The Moral war of the human mind
![]() |
Whether to trust the doubt or not doubt the Trust - as much confusing that sounds, this is however a moral war that goes in our minds these days , tantalizing our very own moral code of life. In today's world , where everyone everywhere has got a voice of their own , truth has been covered with blankets of so much gossip and personal spin to everything . This has made decision making require so much consulting , so much questioning and affirmation , resulting in baseless data coaxing us into making erroneous choices.
The result of one wrong choice , make us question the way we think and handle things , losing the trust in our own intellectual capacity and we begin in our hopeless quest for wisdom on the outside.
Not sure what I am Talking about ? - from politics to buying goods , medicines and making lifestyle choices , from buying bikes , judging products from reviews in online market , from finding about the good and bad about a new place you wish to transfer to a school you want to admit your child for Kindergarten , there always seem to be two sides to every story .
Trusting is a Human skill of its own and these days, the logical or perhaps , the cynical aspect of the brain seems to be the kingmaker and Mr Believer is made to sound like a douchebag. This is a silent attack to our beliefs system so much so that the society is internally being rattled one person at a time. People are afraid to believe or share with someone what they believe, in fear of sounding shallow and gullible. Don't you honestly think ,when these days , if 'to trust' someone or something requires so much deliberation , how one can count on future generations to stand by a common code of ethics, morals and good values passed down from our generation?
Read on , to understand the depth of this problem and the possible solutions to this cancerous human trait.
Why is this even a concern ?
Let's take one scenario after the other. Up until recent , you would have listened to your parents or elders in the family when taking important decisions or certain day-to-day choices. These days , solving a personal question or gathering information is just a click away , as search engines have become our god parents , adopting the world as its big own child. You type something , and bam , there are 100 odd search results . This is not bad ,but the scarier thing here is that this data itself has been populated by our own folks who were lost or perhaps trying to sell their own half baked information , while the original information about something is grappling to come out in the open. Blogs everywhere , reading forums everywhere , nosy people all around , the internet seems to be the ultimate human ancestor.
We end up not talking about things at an emotional level with the fellow human beings around us. Rather we choose to consult a dumb lifeless machine that has attractive lies .The basic communication , the journey of emotions , moral values is just reduced to a Question and Answer ritual , courtesy the Internet and Modern Social media and some irresponsible people in varying proportions. One website proclaims that drinking in copper vessel is good for health while the other doesn't, one forum says a certain politician is an angel while the other claims he /she is a big time bandit. One blog gives the verse of a sloka or psalm and interprets its own way while the other has different script and inference. One site says that a certain bike gives excellent mileage while the other raises concern about back ache and high maintenance costs.
Concerned ? - Now Don't Be !
So now we understand the need for some emergency surgery to be done to our decision making algorithm . We now realize that this struggle needs some immediate attention and the good news is that , there is some light left at the end of the tunnel. So ,where dd the digression originate ? Where do you think ? You never know . That , is not the important to thing to worry about now. It's time we start revisiting our core beliefs , practices , backwards to our parents and ancestors. Our ancestors weren't dumb. They just sold values and good habits with a threat or some illogical fear so that the receivers of the information stick by to the standards , the code of conduct. These days , as we have all started to doubt everything around us , they end up getting tagged as outrageous superstitions. Rather , one must ponder why it was told and not what was told. Remember that time when we used to hear this thing as a child - 'Don't go out in the dark or some thief will come and bundle you away' ? . Well , it was said that way so that you don't hurt yourself or get bit by some poisonous night insects and reptiles. Everything had a reason , a hidden concern. I urge everyone to trust those things that were done before all this revolution began. Food choices, Lifestyle warnings , religious ethics , dressing styles and day to day activities - everything that was once done in a certain right way should be reinforced. These days , lifestyle diseases such as BP , Sugar ,Cholestrol, even the Famous Depression have become so acceptable and rampant , that people immediately thing of a solution to it rather than researching what caused it in first place and rectifying it. Doing it the modern way doesn't mean doing it differently. It means , doing it a bit smart.
Don't blindly take someone's word for any decision but learn to trust as well. In the haste of going with out guts , we should not end up being reckless and eccentric. Adopt the practices that were once followed from food habits, lifestyle choices from working hours on the job, night shifts to using devices and buying products . Learn to communicate and trust. Dig up how things were done before . These days , as no one is willing to backward ruminate , they only go with the popular choice in the den , which by itself may not always work out. Stick to your dogma. Stick to your origin. Talk with everyone , understand how others do the same thing differently but use that information only to validate if your method of doing can be improvised. Decision making will never be a hassle if your values are clear. If you revisit your own ways , you will start discovering a pattern and understand your own needs which you are pathetically oblivious off. You don't need to decide between two sites, two blogs, two forums or two people's opinionated wisdom.
Rather, you will be put in touch with the sole power of your inner hunch.

Be wise. Live long !

You have touched upon a topic that is so widely prevalent yet tough to address in one article. Thanks for writing on this. You can even develop this into a recurring piece. just a thought !
